MyDashboards (MYD) allows you to track a list of the stocks or securities. You can also customize the columns of the watchlist by creating your own views which can include metrics like performance, valuation or fundamentals. You can also share a dashboard you create so that others can follow your watchlist.
The dashboard contains three main elements: the table of securities, the chart which shows the selected security and news of the securities.
There are several dashboards already created for you when you first open MYD such as SAAS and internet stocks.
Table of Securities
The table is the main area of the dashboard where you can track securities. To add a security, click, on the ADD SECURITY button in the table.
You can also import a list of tickers from an excel sheet or CSV by following the instructions here.
To delete a security, click the "x" to the right of the ticker in the table.
One of the most powerful features of Koyfin is the ability to customize the columns which are displayed in the table. The columns can be saved into a view which you can use for any dashboard.
Initially there are three views for you to use. The list of views can be found in the dropdown on the top left of the table. In the Views dropdown menu, you can create, duplicate or delete views.
When you create or edit a view, a module will pop up to browse or search for the available field. In the module you can select the columns displayed and rearrange the order of columns.
Once you can create a dashboard, you can turn on sharing to generate a link to the dashboard so others can follow it.
Once you share the link with another Koyfin user, the recipient has the option to FOLLOW the dashboard or DUPLICATE it.
Once the recipient opens a shared dashboard, they can click on the FOLLOW button on the top right. If the recipient follows a dashboard, they will automatically see any changes the owner makes such as added or deleted securities. The recipient can NOT edit a dashboard they are following because they are not the owner.
Once a recipient follows a dashboard, the name of the dashboard will appear in the menu under the FOLLOWED DASHBOARDS section
From the menu, the recipient can DUPLICATE the dashboard to their own folder and the new dashboard can be edited by the recipient. However the new copy is now its own dashboard and does not update if the original owner who shared the dashboard makes any changes.
